• What clothing do municipal crews need?

  It varies by department, but the common layer is high-visibility outerwear. Cleaning adds a waterproof apron and boots, infrastructure adds impact-protective boots and gloves, parks work adds cut protection.

• Which visibility class is needed for roadworks?

  Where vehicle speed is high and light is poor, the higher class applies. A vest alone is often insufficient; combined with hi-vis trousers, the visible area holds up both standing and bending.

• What suits field crews in winter?

  A waterproof, windproof hi-vis outer layer with a removable fleece liner. A layered set adapts to the temperature swing across a day better than one thick garment.

• When should high-visibility clothing be replaced?

  When visibility loss becomes apparent. Fluorescent backing fades in sunlight and reflective tape stops returning light once caked with mud; a weekly torch check is the simplest control.

• Can different departments have different colours?

  Yes. Fluorescent colours are limited to those the standard allows, but contrast panels, back lettering and accessory colour give plenty of room to separate departments.
