Does the fabric withstand disinfection?
This group uses fabrics that wash hot and hold colour against disinfectants. Share your facility's laundry protocol and we will select the fabric to match.
How should department colours be chosen?
The departments a patient meets most should take the most distinctive colours. A common scheme is dark for emergency, mid-tone for intensive care, light for outpatients and a separate colour for the laboratory. The map is set once and applied across the whole facility.
What is worn under scrubs?
Usually a thin t-shirt or base layer. Where the hygiene protocol requires the outer layer to stay on site at the end of a shift, the layer underneath should also be easy to launder.
At what temperature should scrubs be washed?
Sixty degrees is the common protocol. Unless the fabric is chosen for that temperature and the site's disinfectant, the departmental colour system blurs within months.
Which pattern is comfortable over a long shift?
Patterns with underarm and back movement allowance and side vents make a noticeable difference. A close-cut top pulls across the back when bending or reaching.
